Security Personnel at IGMC Protest Against Salary Withholding, Threaten Escalation

1 min read

Shimla, September 7: Security personnel responsible for the safety of the IGMC (Indira Gandhi Medical College) have launched a protest against the hospital administration. They are upset because two of their colleagues’ salaries were withheld by the hospital administration. Both of these security personnel were on medical leave. One of them had been hit by a vehicle, and the other was injured during a disaster. They claim that this action by the official is demoralizing the security personnel who work diligently day and night.

The Head of the IGMC Security Workers’ Union, Babloo, stated that this step taken by the official is demoralizing the security personnel. Security personnel work with utmost honesty and dedication.

He mentioned that all the security personnel working at IGMC would come out in their support, and they would protest on the streets. Babloo alleged that this official had previously harassed security personnel as well and threatened to terminate their employment. Many security personnel are still being treated rudely. They face harassment daily, making it difficult for them to work.

The security personnel have demanded that first, the salaries of the two security personnel be released. After that, the official should be removed from his position. If this doesn’t happen, the security personnel will escalate their protest to a higher level, and it will be the responsibility of the government and the administration to address the situation.
