1 min readShimla, August 30: The landslides that occurred on August 14 in the Fagli area of the capital have resulted in the displacement of several people’s homes. In addition to that, surrounding houses are also under threat. People living near the incident site are seeking refuge in shelters. The local administration has yet to remove the unsafe trees. Furthermore, there’s no electricity or water supply here. The locals are demanding that the administration promptly cut down the unsafe trees and restore electricity and water supply to their homes.
People staying in the shelter home, located in the old building of the Sanskrit College in Fagli, express their desire to return to their homes. The administration needs to fulfill their demand quickly. They have spent over two weeks in the shelter home now. Despite repeated requests, the administration has not restored electricity and water supply, affecting not only children’s education but also the ability of employees to reach their workplaces. Moreover, daily wage earners are also facing difficulties.
