CM reviews progress of Mukhya Mantri Sukh-Aashray Yojana

  • Special campaign to facilitate the filling up of forms at CDPO level: CM

Shimla, July 18

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, in a late evening meeting on Monday, reviewed Mukhya Mantri Sukh-Aashray Yojana and stressed the need to fill up forms for orphan children eligible for the scheme in mission mode, ensuring that they receive all the benefits in a timely manner.

The Chief Minister directed the concerned department to promptly deliver the Mukhya Mantri Sukh-Aashray Yojana forms to the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) offices at the sub-divisional level. He asked the department officials to launch a special campaign to facilitate the filling up of these forms. The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the scheme was notified on 6th July, 2023 and the Deputy Commissioners assigned to oversee its implementation at the district level. Emphasizing the importance of monitoring the scheme at the sub-divisional level, the Chief Minister highlighted the state government’s resolve to provide special care for around 6000 orphan children who have been adopted as ‘Children of the State’ by enacting a law.

Sh. Sukhu also reviewed the proposed ‘State-of-the-Art ‘Adarsh Gram Sukh-Aashray Parisar’ being constructed at Sundernagar in Mandi district spread over 50 bighas of land. He instructed the Public Works Department to accelerate the project and initiate the tender process within 15 days so that it could be constructed at the earliest. This new integrated building will provide residential facilities to the senior citizens, specially abled children and destitute women, he said and added that this facility will have provision of better furniture, food and care to the residents.
