NCC cadet Ivy Bhettan brought laurels to St. Bede’s College Shimla and 7 H.P. NCC Shimla

NCC Cadet Under Officer Ivy Bhettan of St. Bede’s College Shimla has been selected for United Kingdom under Youth Exchange Program of NCC on Wednesday. NCC in-charge of St. Bede’s College Shimla Dr. Shweta Thakur and Commanding Officer, 7 HP (I) Company NCC (National Cadet Corps) Shimla said that NCC Cadet Ivy Bhettann will represent Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and Chandigarh NCC Directorate from India . Cadet Ivy Bhettan is the only NCC cadet from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh in the women’s category to be selected to participate in this prestigious youth exchange program after qualifying in a competitive competition. Meritorious cadets from other NCC Directorates of India have also been selected in this program in the male category. Cadet Ivy Bhettan will undergo further training from NCC Camp Delhi in the month of June and will leave for United Kingdom in August with the NCC team. Cadet Ivy Bhettan is a student of B.A. third and originally a resident of Dhandewari village of Dodra Kwar of Rohru tehsil of Shimla district. Cadet Ivy Bhettan has also excelled in the Republic-Day Camp. Commanding Officer Colonel D.R. Gargey added that the Youth Exchange Program of NCC is a highly competitive and prestigious program which aims at fostering cultural understanding, leadership development and international cooperation among the youth. Col. Gargey said that Cadet Ivy Bhettan’s selection for the event reflects her exceptional dedication, commitment and outstanding performance in her NCC unit 7 H.P. and at St Bede’s College Shimla. Col. Gargey said that during this program in the United Kingdom, Cadet Ivy Bhettan was given the opportunity to meet and interact with young peers from different backgrounds from different countries, share the unique rich culture of their country and regions and learn about the heritage and cultures of the United Kingdom as well and she will get this opportunity. ” Such youth programs develop the understanding of youth to establish global harmonious harmony at the international level and exchange cultural values. Cadet Ivy Bhettan will spend ten to twelve days in the United Kingdom and there participating in interactive workshops, cultural-travels, promoting inter-cultural dialogue, community service projects and many activities with other international participants from India’, said Col. Gargey. Cadet Ivy Bhettan will also represent the culture, heritage of Himachal Pradesh as a ambassador for St. Bede’s College and 7 H.P. NCC Shimla.
On selection of Cadet Ivy Bhettan for United Kingdom under Youth Exchange Program of NCC, Principal of St. Bede’s College, Prof. Molly Abraham, NCC -Incharge Dr. Shweta Thakur and Commanding Officer of 7 HP (I) Company NCC (National Cadet Corps) Col.
