3 arrested under NDPS Act at Kangra: SSP

Dharamshala, Apr – Three persons residents of Kangra district were arrested under Narcotics Drug and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS Act) at Jassure and Panchrukhi falling under Nurpur and Panchrukhi police stations in Kangra district after heroin and Charas was seized from their possession and two vehicles used in the crime were impounded, Police said here on Saturday. Kangra District Senior Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri told UNI today that under Police Station Panchrukhi police recovered 326 grams of charas from the possession of two accused persons at Chathmi in Kangra district and impounded motorcycle HP37G 0681 used in the crime , on Friday late in the evening. SSP said that the accused persons were identified as Dilawar Awasthi and Ranjeet Singh bothe residents of Palampur subdivision of Kangra district. A case has been registered against the accused person under section 20, 29 -61-85 of NDPS Act at Panchrukhi police station. SSP said that a police investigation was in progress. Meanwhile Senior Superintendent of Police Nurpur police district Ashok Ratan told UNI that one person identified as Avi Katoch resident of Jassure was arrested at Jassure Chatrolig Road falling under Nurpur police station on Friday late evening and recovered 6.67 grams of Heroin from his car HP33C 5456. Police arrested the accused person under section 21, 25 – 61-85 NDPS Act and impounded the car used in the crime. Police is investigating the case SSP said.
