“Forest for future and the future of Forest’s” Media Workshop Organized

Gesellschaft fur International Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)in collaboration with Himachal Pradesh Forest Department conducted one day media workshop on “Forest for future and the future of Forest’s” at Marina,Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.
The aim is to stress on the importance of quality of reportage for sustainable forest management.
On this occasion representative from different media houses in Himachal Pradesh and adjoining States participated.
Talking about the need for the support from the media specifically and the people in general for success of such initiative, DCF Publicity Raman Sharma shares his experience with respect to the role of media in forest conservation.
Team leaders sustainable management of Forest Ecosystem Services Project Dr Sanjay Tomar welcome the participants and stress on the importance of quality of reportage for sustainable Forest management.
Moreover, Chair Centre for Development management and Communication of MICA Dr Manisha Pathak-Shelat stressed on the need of effective communication in development issue’s . In the media workshop she also discuss the importance of balancing information with emotional connect.
Talking about how using effective reporting and story telling to create awareness and to drive the message home, editor and media expert Shyam Parekh harped on pain more attention to the stories about conservation effort while reporting news. He said, ” if the news is presented in an interesting manner it will not effect someone emotions”.
