Mid day meal workers to prepare food for personnel on election duty
1 min readHamirpur, Nov 2 – Mid-day meal workers who prepare food for the children in government schools of the state are to cook food for the personnel on election duties in various parts of the state especially those located away from the main places.
But for this, they will have to make the payment to the staff preparing the food, said a spokesman of the HP Education department.
He said the Chamba district had taken a lead in this respect.
This is due to the reasons that the polling stations across the state are located inside the school campuses mostly and earlier, local gram panchayats used to provide food to the election staff.
However, the Election Commission in view of the interference by the local PRI functionaries in the elections has now decided to entrust this job to the Mid day meal workers who are government employees.
He said during the elections, mid-day meal workers can arrange food for the employees posted in the polling stations set up in the schools, for which the Deputy Director of Elementary Education had issued instructions to the Elementary Education Block Officer.
