9th International Conference and 25th (Silver Jubilee) Annual Conference of Gwalior Academy of Mathematical Sciences ICGAMS- 2K22 was organized by the Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities of Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering from 29th Sep. to 1st Oct.
The objective of the conference was to bring together researchers in mathematics from all over the world and expose them to different aspects of mathematical modeling and simulation through expert talks and research paper presentations.
Total 20 guest Speakers across INDIA and Abroad delivered the speeches on a variety of trends and subjects of mathematics. Total 75 participants participated in this conference and presented 61 research papers in diverse and recent areas of Pure and Applied Mathematics.
On 29th SEP, the conference was inaugurated by the Chief guest , Dr. Renu Jain (Devi Ahilya Vishwavidylaya, Indore), Dr. V. P. Saxena (Founder President of Gwalior Academy of Mathematical Sciences, Keynote Speaker, Dr. Milan Stehlik (Linz University, Austria), Dr. G. N. Kulkarni (Director, PCCoE), Dr. Sanjivani Sonar (HoD, AS&H department), Dr. Leena Sharma (General Chair), Prof. Ashwini Vaze (Co-Chair).
Dr. Renu Jain in her speech elaborated the importance of mathematics as every domain of engineering and technology is deeply connected to mathematics. Dr. V. P. Saxena expressed the need of such conferences, mentioning the need of mathematical modeling in diverse fields. All sciences as they grow towards perfection become mathematical in ideas, he said.
In the keynote speech, Dr. Milan Stehlik talked about the contribution of Shriniwas Ramanujan on ‘ Theory of Partition’. He unveiled many facts about the veteran mathematician Ramanujan and his work. Dr. V. P. Saxena Presented the Mathematical Modeling of Biological Populations With and Without Pollution in his presidential talk.
In the inaugural ceremony Dr. Ravidra Kulkarni, Veteran Mathematician ( From Pune now residing USA) was felicitated with ‘Fellowship of GAMS’ for his incredible contribution in Mathematics.
On the day two, Dr. S. A. Katre (Lokmanya Tilak Chair professor, SPPU Pune) delivered the S. K. D. Gaur memorial lecture on ‘Hermite Interpolation Formula and a generalized Vandermonde determinant’.
On day three, Dr. Mohammad Shorifuddin (Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh) delivered a Keynote speech on Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based modeling which is crucial in building automated, intelligent, and smart systems to solve real-world issues.
Along with the profound keynote speeches , during the three days of conference 15 renowned mathematicians delivered plenary and invited talks on a variety of trends and topics of Pure and Applied mathematics. This three day conference, purely dedicated to Mathematics, has given a plethora of ideas for researchers across India and abroad. In the valedictory function, a baton of 10th International and 26th National conference was handed over to Dr. V. H. Pradhan (SVNIT). Dr. Leena Sharma, General chair and Co-chair Prof. Ashwini Vaze said that, ICGAMS has been a great stimulus to mathematical scholars and research aspirants around the world and was organized successfully. The inaugural and valedictory ceremony was anchored by Dr. Sandeep Patil and Prof. Priyanka Garg.
