68 Professional Engineers & Architects Awarded With Excellence Award By ICI

Shimla, Dec 05 – To mark the celebration of concrete day ICI (Indian Concrete Institute)in association with UltraTec Cement an event to honour the renowned professionals from all over Himachal for their valuable contribution towards making the structures durable with all possible facilities, keeping in mind the “Green Power” as their priority and at the same time maintain the aesthetic beauty of the structure was held here today.

“The basic objectives of building construction management and architectural designs, construction methodology, green and sustainable buildings, zero maintenance and zero energy Built Environment is the essence of any design”, said Ar. VPS Jaswal, Chairman, ICI, Shimla-Centre.

During the event, 68 people were bestowed with Annual Excellence Awards by the  Shimla Center for Architect’s, Engineer’s, Contractors’ Outstanding Performance/Best Construction/Works.

Lifetime achievements award: Er. D.K. Sharma, Chairman, Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission, Shimla, Member, National Security Advisory Board, GOI, Vice President International Commission on Large dams Paris.

Best Built Infrastructure Project Award for the year 2021 “SJVN Corporate Headquarters, Shanan, Shimla Shakti Sadan and “Building the Best Built Infrastructure Projects” award in “Owner* Category” has been conferred on Nand Lal Sharma, CMD SJVN, Shimla.

Ar. Uday Bhat, Architect of  Delhi was awarded for Architectural Design and Er. Deepak Thakur (Structural Engineer) for Structural Design.

The award was given to M/S. Era Construction, Gurgaon, Haryana under the category ‘Contractor Award’ for construction of the project.

Ajay Sharma (Manager,Arch.), Twinkle Verma(Assistant Manager,Arch.), Ar.Balbir Singh (Junior Officer, Arch); and Dinesh Sapru, Chief General Manager (Retd) Rajesh Chandel (Sr. AGM) were given Awards for the SJVN CHQ.

Award to Rampur Hydro Power Station (412 MW) in the Best Serviceable Infrastructure Projects category at *Bayal, Tehsil Nirmand, District Kullu, Himachal Pradesh and Sushil Kumar Sharma Director (Electrical), for “Excellence  Contribution” SJVN, Shimla Project Head Manoj Kumar, Chief General Manager received the award.

Apart from this, SP Bansal, Director Civil and Roshanlal Negi HOP Luhri Project were honored with “Concrete Technologist Award” and Young Concrete Technologist Award respectively.

For excellence in technical education

Prof (Dr.) S.P. Guleria, Director cum Principal, Jawaharlal Nehru Government Engineering College, Sundernagar, District Mandi has been honored with the award.

Apart from this, 38 individuals from Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh have also been honored by the ICI Excellence Ashiana Awards 2021 for their contribution  as Architects, Engineers, Contractors and House Owner Awards and awards were also given to the jury members
