Stanford University’s research and rankings are highly respected and are considered prestigious by the scientific community. The analysis, conducted using research publications upto 2020, was published in a peer reviewed scientific journal. The data includes all scientists who are among the top one lakh across all fields, according to the composite citation index.
Two of the researchers from Shoolini University have been included in the life-time category. These are Dr Gaurav Sharma and Prof S S Chandel.
Dr Sharma, an Associate Professor in the School of Chemistry, started his research activity in 2009 at Shoolini University and completed his research work as a PhD student. He has carried out diverse research lines, interrelated to each other based on the synthesis and characterization of nanocomposites, hydrogels, and trimetallic nanoparticles, ion exchangers, adsorbents and photocatalysts.
Prof Chandel is a former Professor and founder Head of the Centre for Energy and Environmental Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, and currently Director Centre of Excellence in Energy Science and Technology, Shoolini University, with an experience of over four decades.
Chancellor Prof P K Khosla has lauded the honour given to the researchers and has said that the university was proud of their achievements. Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla said their achievement was ‘superb’ and expressed the hope that the list of names from Shoolini would be even larger next year.
Among the other five who have figured in the Stanford University list is Associate Professor Dr Pankaj Raizada whose specialised area is Inorganic Chemistry. She has published more than 90 articles with 78 research papers, 21 patents and seven book chapters in international journals of high repute.
Amit Kumar is Associate Professor at the School of Advanced Chemical Sciences. He started his research career with a PhD in Chemistry at Himachal Pradesh University. Prior to this, Kumar was awarded the prestigious predoctoral scholarship of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research.
Professor and Head at the School of Advanced Chemical Sciences, Shoolini University, Pardeep Singh teaches Physical Chemistry. He has published around papers, seven book chapters and has filed 22 patents.
Associate Professor at Shoolini University, Joydeep Das teaches Chemistry. He received his PhD from Bose Institute, Kolkata, West Bengal, India, in Biochemistry. He has been Research Assistant Professor at Konkuk University, Seoul, South Korea. His current research area is nanoparticle mediated targeted drug delivery in cancers cells and tumor in vivo.
Prof Anil Kumar, who has since left the University, was Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department. He has received Post Doc Fellowship from Kyungpook National University, South Korea in computational fluid dynamics. His area of study is heat transfer and Nanofluid flow characteristics in heat exchangers.
