The Independence Day of India, which is celebrated religiously throughout the country on the 15th of August every year, since it reminds every Indian about the dawn of a new beginning, the beginning of an era of deliverance from the clutches of British colonialism of more than 200 years. On the Independence Day, APG Shimla University celebrated independence festival at university campus here on Sunday. The Vice-Chancellor of APG Shimla University Prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan attended as a chief guest in the Independence Day celebration, and after receiving guard of honour by varsity security personnel, Vice-Chancellor Chauhan hoisted National Tri-Colour flag. The students and teachers of APG varsity in compliance with corona protocol attended the Independence Day celebration. In his address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan addressed the students and teachers that India not achieved freedom in a single day as it is the continue saga of struggles of the great heroes, patriots and revolutionaries of India, who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of India against the brutal British colonialism, however, India got freedom after a long struggle and sacrifices of countless heroes of the freedom struggle of India like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Sardar Bhagat Singh, Lakshmibai, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Patel, Nehru and millions of known and unknown patriots of India. Prof. Chauhan said that we should not forget the contributions and sacrifices of ours heroes who laid down their lives for the freedom of India; this is due to their through all Indian are breathing in open environment of freedom. “The freedom brings responsibilities as well and all Indian should densure their responsibilities, contributions for the nation-development, unity and integrity of India so that India be developed and strong nation in the world”, said Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan addressing the students. Prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan invoked the students that give your best for the development of the nation by your great actions for the building of nation-development, unity and integrity of India and said that youths should ensure their duties to do the growth of the nation in each area. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Chauhan mentioned about Shimla in his address to the students that Shimla used to the summer capital of the British ciolonialism, where Indians were not allowed to enter this shows how was the despotism and tyranny by English against the Indians and established feudal kingdom in our land India. Prof. Chauhan told the students that English never admitted India their nation but exploited and looted both manpower of India and resources for their self-interest, how it was happened told Prof. Chauhan that behind this kingdom of the British in India was the bickering among the masses of India, and British leveraged and trespassed ours mistakes and then subjugated and enslaved India. In this context, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan invoked the youths and students that what the religion, culture we follow and adopt, our nation India is first for us and it is possible only with the theme of nation-building, unity and integrity of India. Prof. Chauhan said be good citizens and then ensure your duties to do in reality for the service of motherland India as this is the greatest gift for the Bharatmata that is motherland India, the mother of all Indians and freedom of India automatically will be relevant as well. VC Ramesh Chauhan concluded his speech with the vow to contribute for nation building with sincerity and invoked the students to come forward for the service of the nation and contribute their roles for the de development and unity of India. Prof. Chauhan stressed more on the conservation of the mother tongues as our mother tongues which united the Indians for providing a platform for the formation of India’s freedom struggle against the British colonial, he said if ours mother tongues die, our cultures will die naturally and we all Indian will lost our Indiana. Vice-Chancellor motivated the new generations, students to preserve the mother tongues. During the independence festival program, all deans, professors, chairpersons were present.
