Botany Dept of SILB organises two day virtual webinar “Upgrade”
2 min readSolan, June 12 – The Botany Department of Shoolini Institute of Life Sciences and Business Management (SILB) conducted and ‘upgrade’ workshop which concluded on Friday.
The main objective of the workshop was to make the post graduate students of Life Sciences aware about different areas of Research and to select those areas of research which are required to serve the humanity and to develop scientific temper in students.
The programme began with a welcome address by Botany Department’s Head Dr. Mamta Singh Pathania on behalf of the Botany Department.
President of SILB Institute Mrs. Saroj Khosla welcomed the main speaker Professor P.K Khosla, Founder and Chancellor, Shoolini University and requested him to guide the students.
Prof Khosla threw light on the scientific progress in Ancient India. He said that the knowledge of science in the form of Shlokas which was written in our Vedas thousands of years ago, is now being verified by the modern science. Further, he said, the knowledge of the Universe was acquired by our sages by awakening their Kundalini and Chakras.
Prof Khosla also talked about the interplay between spirituality and modern science. He also guided the students regarding career opportunities in various disciplines of Life Sciences.
After the lecture, he answered several questions posed by the students. The session was conducted by Dr. Kranti Thakur and Mr. Ajay Rattan. Prof Khosla praised the ongoing research work in Botany Department and announced a Rs. two lakh incentive to propagate research in Botany.
At the end of the programme Director SILB, Dr. Shalini Sharma presented the Vote of Thanks to the Chief Speaker. A total of 150 students from Botany, Chemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology were present in the webinar.
