Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, Solan, formally inaugurated the Eighth International Conference on Image Information Processing (ICIIP–2025) on 27th November 2025, reaffirming its stature as a premier IEEE-supported global forum in the field of intelligent imaging. The inauguration ceremony was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof. R. K. Sharma, with Prof. L. D. Behera, Director, IIT Mandi, as the Chief Guest. The event witnessed the presence of JUIT Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty members and the core organising committee, including Prof. Vivek Sehgal (Head, CSE & IT), Dr. Amit Jakhar (Conference General Chair), and Dr. Arvind Kumar (General Co-Chair). The ceremony was anchored by Dr. Ruchi Verma, faculty, CSE & IT.
In his address, Prof. Sharma emphasised the importance of discipline, innovation and research-driven academic excellence. Prof. Vivek Sehgal highlighted the journey of the CSE & IT department in fostering a strong research culture, while Dr. Amit Jakhar presented an overview of the conference theme and its global outreach. The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Arvind Kumar.
The first day featured two highly inspiring keynote sessions — one by Prof. L. D. Behera (IIT Mandi) on the rapidly evolving landscape of image information processing, and the other by Dr. Sriparna Saha (IIT Patna) on advanced applications of intelligent systems. Parallel technical sessions were conducted in both physical and virtual modes, allowing researchers worldwide to present their work.
With over 820 research paper submissions and an acceptance rate of just 16%, ICIIP–2025 reflects exceptional academic selectivity. The conference has attracted participants from more than 20 countries, along with representation from IITs, NITs, IIITs, international universities, research labs and defence organisations, making it one of the most diverse and impactful editions in its 15-year history. Recognised as one of JUIT’s flagship events, ICIIP–2025 is expected to inspire young researchers, promote international collaboration, and strengthen the bridge between academia and industry in the domain of intelligent image processing.
